The Anfield council of the Knights of St Columba is committed to supporting communities and individuals, both locally and from around the world, who need our help.
We financially support groups such as the Handicapped Children’s Pilgrimage Trust, Lourdes Youth, and Fazakerley Special Needs. Some of the larger projects which we are currently supporting are:
Sr Margaret moved to the Philippines in 2013 and we continue to support her work there. These are still early days, but we shall provide updates as we hear from sister and find out how we can help her efforts with children in the there.
Together with our local parishes of St. Paul's and St. Timothy's and the associated schools, we raised funds for the hard work of Sister Margaret and her religious sisters, who live in very simple conditions and provide education and as much food as they can for local children (Sr Margaret has moved to the Philippines now).
Please see our dedicated page for the work that was done here: Zambia Project - Sr Margaret
We are financially responsible for the education & welfare of several Zambian Aids orphans at the Kasisi's Children's Home in Lusaka, and also provide material support to that region.
For more details, see the Kasisi Children's Home
We recommend you also see the BBC Audio Slideshow about the Children's Home.
We have helped fund the building of a new church for a thriving parish community in Uganda, and are currently starting to raise funds to help build a school within the same community.
